A Guide to Written Style for Official University Publications

The following style guidelines have been developed for use in official University publications. They have been taken primarily from the Australian Government Style Manual for Authors, Editors and Printers, but with some reference to other authors considered to be world authorities in the field of literary style, such as Fowler. As it has also been adopted by the Government, the Macquarie Dictionary is the authority used for most spellings.

This document covers only commonly-used textual style, and is not intended as an in-depth document.
